Because bonding requires little or no removal of natural enamel, it is one of the most conservative treatments we offer. It is also one of the most affordable.
Bonding is ideal for
- Small chips and fractures on front teeth
- Closing minor gaps between teeth
- Covering discolored spots that whitening will not lift
- Reshaping teeth that look too short or pointed
- Protecting exposed roots where gums have receded
What to expect
Most bonding appointments take thirty to sixty minutes per tooth and rarely need numbing. We select a shade that matches your natural teeth, condition the surface, layer and shape the resin, and polish it to a natural luster. You can eat and drink normally the same day.
Bonding typically lasts five to ten years. It can stain more readily than porcelain, so we recommend limiting coffee, tea and red wine for the first 48 hours and keeping up with regular cleanings.
Common questions
Bonding or veneers?
Bonding is quicker and less expensive and works well for small repairs. Porcelain veneers last longer, resist stains better and are the better choice for changing several teeth at once. We will help you weigh the two.
