The treated area is numbed with local anesthetic, so the procedure is comfortable. It is typically completed in one or two visits, treating half the mouth at a time.
After treatment
Mild tenderness and sensitivity for a few days is normal. Warm salt water rinses and over-the-counter pain relievers help. Within a few weeks, inflammation subsides, bleeding stops and gums tighten around the teeth. We will see you for a follow-up to measure your progress.

- Brushing twice daily with a soft brush, angled toward the gumline
- Daily flossing or a water flosser
