We use modern all-porcelain and zirconia materials that are both strong and lifelike, and we match the shade to your neighboring teeth so the crown disappears into your smile.
When a crown is the right choice
- A tooth with a large filling and not enough natural structure left
- A cracked or fractured tooth
- A tooth that has had a root canal
- A severely worn or misshapen tooth
- The visible tooth on top of a dental implant
The crown process
At the first visit we numb the tooth, remove any decay, shape it to receive the crown and take a digital scan with our iTero scanner, which means no messy impression material. A temporary crown protects the tooth while our laboratory crafts the final restoration. At the second visit we check the fit, bite and shade and cement the crown permanently.
Common questions
How long do crowns last?
Porcelain and zirconia crowns typically last ten to fifteen years or longer with good brushing, flossing and regular checkups.
Will the crown look fake?
No. We match color and translucency carefully, and the materials we use mimic natural enamel. Most people cannot tell which tooth has a crown.
