Implants are the only tooth replacement that preserves jawbone, which is why they are the standard of care for missing teeth. Dr. Gibson plans each case using our in-office cone beam 3D scanner, which shows the exact shape of your bone and the position of nerves and sinuses so placement is precise and predictable.
Implants can replace
- A single tooth, with no need to grind down neighboring teeth
- Several teeth, using an implant-supported bridge
- A full arch, with a fixed bridge or a snap-in denture held by a few implants
The implant process
After a consultation and 3D scan, the implant is placed in a straightforward procedure done with local anesthetic, and sedation if you prefer. Over the next few months the bone bonds to the implant. Once it is solid, we take a digital scan and craft your final crown, bridge or denture. Some patients need a bone graft first; your scan will tell us.
Living with implants
Implants do not decay, and they let you eat whatever you like. Brush and floss them like natural teeth and keep up with cleanings so the gums around them stay healthy. With proper care, implants can last for decades.
Common questions
Does getting an implant hurt?
The procedure is done with local anesthetic and most patients report less discomfort than they expected, often comparable to a tooth extraction. Over-the-counter pain relief is usually enough afterward.
Am I a candidate?
Most healthy adults are. Adequate bone, healthy gums and controlled medical conditions matter most. A 3D scan and exam will give you a clear answer.
How much do implants cost?
Cost depends on how many teeth are replaced and whether grafting is needed. We provide a written estimate after your consultation, check what your insurance contributes, and offer CareCredit financing.
