General & Family Dentistry in Livermore, CA

Most of what keeps a smile healthy for a lifetime is quiet, routine work: a thorough exam, a careful cleaning, a sealant placed at the right age, a problem caught while it is still small. That is the heart of what we do at Livermore Dental Care.

General & Family Dentistry at Livermore Dental Care

Dr. David Gibson and his team care for children, parents and grandparents under one roof, so your family can keep one dental home as needs change over the years. Visits are unhurried, questions are welcome, and we explain what we see on your X-rays and scans in plain language.

What a visit with us looks like

A routine visit begins with a conversation about anything that has changed since we last saw you, from sensitivity to a new medication. Your hygienist then cleans and polishes your teeth, checks the health of your gums, and takes digital X-rays when they are due. Dr. Gibson completes the visit with a full exam of your teeth, existing restorations, bite and soft tissues, including an oral cancer screening.

If we find anything that needs attention, you will leave with a clear written plan and the cost before any treatment begins. Many patients need nothing more than a cleaning and a reminder to floss.

Care for every stage of life

  • Children: gentle first visits, fluoride, sealants and guidance on habits that shape developing smiles.
  • Teens and adults: cleanings, exams, cavity treatment, sports mouth guards and cosmetic options when you want them.
  • Seniors: monitoring of older restorations, dry mouth and gum health, and solutions for worn or missing teeth.

Preventive dentistry pays for itself

A cleaning and exam twice a year costs far less than treating the decay and gum disease that develop when problems go unnoticed. We are a Delta Dental preferred provider and work with most PPO plans, and routine preventive visits are typically covered in full by dental insurance.

Common questions

How often should my family come in?

For most patients, a cleaning and exam every six months is the right rhythm. Patients with a history of gum disease or heavy tartar buildup may benefit from visits every three to four months. We will recommend the schedule that fits you.

At what age should a child first see the dentist?

The American Dental Association recommends a first visit by the first birthday or within six months of the first tooth. Early visits are short and friendly, and they help children grow up comfortable at the dentist.

Do you see new patients?

Yes. New patients are always welcome. Call 925-455-9510 or request an appointment online and we will find a time that works for you.
